Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the AFDDI public website processes, why it is used and how to exercise your rights.
Last updated: 14 July 2026
1. Data controller
AFDDI is responsible for information submitted through this institutional website. The public website is separate from AKIBA, the operational system restricted to authorised users.
For any privacy-related question: contact@afddi-asbl.org.
2. Information we process
Contact and partnership forms
We receive the information you provide: name, email address, optional telephone number, organisation, role, subject and content of the request.
Comments and likes
A comment contains the displayed name and submitted text. It becomes public only after moderation. A like is linked to a pseudonymous session identifier, not to a declared identity.
Technical data and cookies
The website uses a session cookie required for security and a language cookie retained for one year. Anti-abuse mechanisms temporarily use irreversible hashes of the IP address and user agent; plain values are not stored in form logs.
Never submit a password, identity document, medical data or individual financial information through the public forms.
3. Why and for how long
Information is used to respond to requests, assess partnerships, moderate comments, secure the service and maintain a minimal operational record.
- Contact and partnership requests are reviewed periodically and retained for no more than twelve months after follow-up closes, unless a justified legal or institutional obligation applies.
- Published comments may remain visible for as long as the article is published.
- Anti-abuse limits expire automatically after their technical window.
- The session cookie expires when the browser closes; the language preference expires after one year.
AFDDI does not sell this information. Access is limited to authorised people and necessary technical providers subject to confidentiality and security obligations.
4. Mesure d’audience (Google Analytics)
5. Vos choix et vos droits
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your information, object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Reasonable identity verification may be requested to protect data from unauthorised disclosure.
A request may be sent to contact@afddi-asbl.org. AFDDI will respond within a reasonable period in accordance with the applicable framework.
6. Sécurité, droit applicable et évolutions
AFDDI applies access controls, HTTPS encryption in production, CSRF protection, rate limiting, moderation and restricted logging. No measure can, however, guarantee zero risk.
This policy is interpreted under the applicable framework in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, including Law No. 20/017 of 25 November 2020 on telecommunications and information and communication technologies.
The policy may change when services or obligations change. The date shown at the top of the page indicates the latest revision.
